Ethan Senger, a young pop-rock singer/songwriter based in Atlanta, GA, has won the SongwriterUniverse “Best Song Of The Month” Contest for March, for his song, “Everything.” This song is included on his latest EP, Standing Still, which he released independently last July (2023).

“Everything” is a modern pop-rock song that is fast-paced and full of energy. It has a pulsing, electronic beat throughout the song, plus a guitar-driven arrangement. The highlight is in the chorus, where the melody soars into a higher range. “Everything” provides a fine showcase for Senger’s strong lead & harmony vocals. It was expertly produced by Andy Park, a top producer/engineer in Seattle who’s worked with Death Cab For Cutie, the Deftones and Noah Gundersen.

Senger, who is 23, grew up mostly in Woodstock, GA, which is near Atlanta. He learned to play guitar at a young age, and his parents were both musicians. He’s been inspired by the guitar playing of Eddie Van Halen, the singing of Steve Perry (of Journey), and more recently by the music & songs of Noah Gundersen and David Ramirez.

By the time he was 17, Senger decided that his goal was to be an artist, and to release his own music and songs. In 2020, he released his first EP, called Ethan Senger, which he produced with his father, Mark Senger. Then in 2022, Senger teamed up with his friend Woody Earwood, who produced his single, “I’m Fine.”

In 2023, Senger connected with producer Andy Park, and he flew to Seattle to work with him and record his latest EP, Standing Still. “It was great working with Andy; I’m a fan of his work with Noah Gundersen,” said Senger. “For the EP, I sang and played guitar, Andy played bass and other instruments, and we brought in Sean Lane to play drums.”

“Everything” is included on Senger’s EP Standing Still, which also features the songs “Standing Still” and “Something To Write About.” Notably, Senger has released a video of “Standing Still,” which was directed by Woody Earwood.

Currently, Senger has been writing and recording several new songs, which he plans to release as singles this year. He has also been playing many live shows, both as a solo act and with a band. In addition, he is pitching songs for film & TV placements.
