Established in 1992, in the Old Fort Worth Stockyards, this organization hosts a 1st and 3rd Monday Night Open Mic Night, quarterly performance showcases for their members, a monthly songwriter gathering, which includes guest speakers, workshops, and song critiques which are free to members. They also provide their members with a monthly newsletter that includes show listings for members, songwriter websites, songwriter leads, music venues and local songwriter meetings, and featured articles from experts in the music business. Established July 2005 in The Woodlands, TX, WSA is an organization offering an environment of support, information and creative inspiration to the songwriter hobbyist or to those wanting to advance to a more professional level, by providing opportunities to learn more about the craft and business of songwriting and to form creative partnerships and networking among fellow songwriters. WSA meets the second Monday of each month, 7:00pm, Borders Bookstore, Market Street, The Woodlands, TX, featuring group critique format, and occasional guest pro-writers and speakers.
